Steel ingots are produced in two famous grades, 3sp and 5sp, which have differences in analysis and application. These two grades are produced according to the Russian steel ingot standard GOST380 and have unique characteristics. We will continue to analyze the analysis of 3SP and 5SP ingots.
3SP ingot analysis
3sp ingots are more flexible than other grades and have a higher price due to their desirable properties. 3sp or st44-2 ingots have a maximum carbon content of 22, and are mainly used in the production of angles and channels or in some cases in small rebar sizes. Also, ingots of this grade, the amount of alloying elements is lower than ingots of 5SP.
5SP ingot analysis
In principle, 5sp ingots are mainly used for the production of rebar up to size 25 and have less flexibility. Gr60 grade ingots are used to produce rebars of size 25 and above. Grade 5sp, Rst34, 1006, 1008 ingots are used to produce coils.
